Successfully Funded + More Bug Fixes

In a stunning show of support, during the last couple days of the campaign we ended up not only fully funded but smashing through THREE of our stretch goals!! This is incredible; thank you so much for your help reaching our goals, everyone!

The darling lavendel did this equally as darling art of Xani, the protagonist, as a child. What a sweet little girl...

Kickstarter followers/backers may already have read the following update but for anyone who missed it or don't follow the project over there, here was the latest update over there.

Keep an eye out for what's to come:

  • Revamped game interface!
  • New main menu artwork!
  • Natalia's design will soon be available to vote on for backers!
  • A huge expansion of the prologue!

When I first launched Heart Fragment on Kickstarter I was... well, nervous to say the least. Hopeful, but nervous. I struggle with anxiety and low self-worth, so even though I was certain that Heart Fragment deserves to be created, I didn't know if others would agree with me. But considering we ended up with a whopping 180 backers, I would like to formally announce that I'll be trying to give my anxiety a good punch in the face at being proven wrong.

A few backers know this already, but for anyone who doesn't: my physical health has never been the best. I'm 24 years old right now, and I'm in the healthiest place I've been in a long time, but at 16/17 I started to get very sick. I didn't finish school. I had to quit working. I was bed-bound for a long time, put on way too many medications, usually only stayed awake for 6 or 7 hours a day because I was chronically exhausted from my condition and my medication.

Heart Fragment is something I wanted to bring to life for so long, but I didn't think I'd be able to until recently. I started working hard, with vigor, trying to get a workable demo ready and although the demo you all see now is rougher than the new one that'll be released in the next couple of things, it is my proof of concept and I did it; I created it! I'm going to continue working hard and hope that even if Heart Fragment stays an obscure indie game with a minimal fanbase, at least I can say... I did it. I accomplished that. And I'm already proud for my future self!

I'll leave this update with the above sketch that's being worked on for the new main menu screen that'll be up in the next update! The update today fixed a bunch of bugs with the dissolve transitions; sorry about all that, folks. Once I got to a certain point I unintentionally started writing dissolve in lowercase when it needs a capital D to function. Whoops. This should be fixed now!

Have a wonderful day everyone, and stay safe!
